Erik Axl Sund is the pen name of Swedish author duo Jerker Eriksson (b. 1974) and Håkan Axlander Sundquist (b. 1965). Previously, Håkan has worked as a sound engineer, musician and artist, and Jerker as the producer of Håkan’s electro punk band iloveyoubaby! and a prison librarian. The two are now full-time writers, but also run an art gallery together.
Erik Axl Sund is the author of Crow Girl (2010), Hunger Fire (2011) and Pythia’s Instructions (2012). Together, the novels form the trilogy about Victoria Bergman. These dark and addictive novels became an immediate success, both among critics and readers. The Victoria Bergman trilogy is the latest literary phenomenon in Swedish crime fiction and a milestone in contemporary crime fiction in general.
The Victoria Bergman trilogy received the ‘Special Award’ from the Swedish Academy of Crime Writers in 2012. The academy highlighted the trilogy’s “hypnotically captivating psychoanalysis in crime fiction form.”
In may 2014, Erik Axl Sund’s Glass Bodies was published. This novel is the first stand-alone installment in a new trilogy around the theme of melancholy. Its subti<x>tle is Black Melancholia.
