II have never been close. I have never been close to my jewish tradition, to my jewish past, or to my jewish identity. Never. I don't even believe in god, or love living in Israel.
But when I looked into the heart of human-made hell, I broke down. I collapsed from the inside. I fell. I couldn't take it, bare it, but I had to look. I couln't look away, or ignore.
Because, in the matter of fact, it wasn't about a jew that watches it, the horrors. It wasn't about being a part of the jewish community, whom I share past with.
No.
It was about being a human, a part of humanity. Because it wasn't god that made those horrors, nor setan created that hell.
It was human. It was man. It wasn't some sort of animal, nor a machine, that causes it.
It was the human monster.
