Sadness / The Wolf
And the sun set -
Blazing the skies -
Setting the world on fire -
Torching the blue eternity of the skies,
And the lightning lit the skies -
Aparting heavens from heavens -
Torching the skies with that white rod of flame,
And when the war was set and done,
When the black of the night -
Dripped in tears of darkness,
And nothing was left -
Then there was light,
A silver lining -
Echoing in the dark,
Into the soul -
Through the fires of hate -
Through the lonliness and sadness,
And everyone kept -
Doing what they did,
Like the world never tore itself apart,
Like it all happened -
In my head.
But when I looked for the sign -
The bloody skies seemed off,
Darkness tried to hide -
Beneath a streetlight,
And nothing seemed alright,
And nothing seemed right -
Until I heard a voice -
"Look into the skies"
Like a long lost promise -
Silver lining in the depth,
Drowning in the deep.
