We Fly Away is the story of a widowed father, born in poverty shortly before the Great Depression and his six children, five daughters and one son. The book chronicles the family as they progressed through life in the rural south during the 1950Â’s.

The son is a successful entrepreneur and government employee, while the older daughters have become successful in their own businesses in gardening, catering, courier services, and day care operations.
