Aurora Fernández Per:
Aurora Fernández Per was born in Minas de Río-Tinto (Spain) in 1957. She studied Journalism and wrote in several Spanish newspapers and magazines. In 1994, she founded a+t architecture publishers. She forms part of a+t research group, together with the architect Javier Mozas. They are responsible for wide research on collective housing, density, mixed uses and public space included in a+t publications.

Fernández Per and Mozas (a+t research group) are the authors of the Density series books -Dbook, Density Condensed, Density Projects, HoCo, Next, Density is Home, Why Density? and Form&Data -, which became a reference for publications about collective housing worldwide.

They have lectured at numerous Universities, Institutions and International Workshops, like the Graz University of Technology's Dense Cities symposium and the Master´s Degree in Collective Housing of the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura in Madrid.



Javier Arpa:
Javier Arpa is an architect and holds a Master of Science in Architecture from the Delft University of Technology (TU Delft), The Netherlands. He worked for a number of architecture firms in Argentina, The Netherlands, Spain and France, and led several urban planning projects in China. He forms part of a+t research group, together with the journalist Aurora Fernández Per and the architect Javier Mozas. They are responsible for wide research on collective housing, density, mixed uses and public space included in a+t publications.

A thick volume packed with thirty urban projects, 'The Public Chance' forms in some respects a follow up to the earlier series 'In Common'. This new collection focuses on additional designs for collective public spaces and in so doing offers a renewed vision of both new interventions and earlier presented and now completed projects.
