Las 36 estratagemas pertenecen a la misma tradicion del Arte de la guerra de Sunzi. En ambas obras, dos clasicos de la estrategia taoista, se trata de una ciencia derivada del comportamiento humano. En ese sentido, cada estratagema es una especie de clave para minar desde los cimientos la voluntad de luchar y el equilibrio psicologico del adversario: es la manera de inducirle a hacer algo sin que se de cuenta, o de crear deliberadamente en el contendiente una inquietud para provocar determinadas reacciones y movimientos. / The 36 stratagems are part of the same tradition as Sunzis Art of War. Both works, two classics of the Taoist strategy, deal with a science derived from the human behaviour, and an advanced psychology of the human weaknesses and forces in the strategic context of seeking to control the others.
