During orientation day at college, Kaoru Hibishi and company run into a bit of trouble when childhood friend, Mayu Miyuki, comes home to Japan after her stay in England. She gives more than just a shock to Kaoru when she kisses him on the lips as a sign of greeting. We find out that Mayu detests her father for deciding her for her, and never taking time out his busy schedule to see her. Mau's clingy personality stems from her lonely childhood, where both parents, busy in their high-end careers never took the time to listen to her. Aoi, in the meantime, is torn apart by the fact that her fiance has kissed another girl. It's during one of Tina's drunken rampages that she spills the beans, but Kaoru can't sum up the courage to face her just yet. A detailed childhood memory reveals Kaoru and Mayu's first encounter at a business party. There's an eerie shot of Kaoru bathed in blood as he attempts to console the young Mayu, encouraging her to appreciate the fact that she has parents at all. Near of end of this saga, Kaoru is finally overcome by his feeling of guilt, but when he tries to confess to Aoi, she seems confident in her trust in him and forgives him immediately. They then share a romantic kiss beneath the moo and things seem to be settled. The next series of chapters in this volume revolve around the Sakuraba household and friends going on a trip to the countryside to relax and celebrate Golden Week. The chapter first starts off with an ambiguous scene of Aoi stumbling upon an old key while organizing drawers. Mayu Miyuki isn't completely out of the picture yet, when she stumbles upon the party and they end up spending the rest of the vacation bogged down with a tension-filled air. Tina and Mayu have plenty of glaring contests while Aoi and Kaoru struggle to find some one-on-one time. Gratuitous bath scenes supply ample fan service and humor to boot. However, the key ties into the story more as Aoi and Kaoru take a trip down memory lane, when they were first introduced to one another as children. Handed down as keepsake by his mother, Kaoru used the key to mark off their height against a huge tree. They visit this same tree, sharing memories, and mark off their new height again....

Kaoru and Tina wind up visiting the West Animal Zoo together, when everyone calls up to say that they can't make it. Tina's overwhelmed by the sight of the animals (especially the Kinshikou, a type of monkey), saying how it's always been her dream to work with animals for a living. Within the zoo, they find an attraction, which ends up being a crazy Indiana Jones/Wedding type game. Kaoru's fit into an action outfit (Indiana Jones-ish) and is repeatedly assaulted by booby-traps and the like. In the meantime, Tina's given the choice of saying that her relationship with Kaoru is: not even friends, more than friends, or one and only love. She's torn between her semi-close feelings for Kaoru but is afraid to reveal it. She chooses choice No. 2 and is immediately fit into an extravagant wedding gown! While she's having an inner-battle about how to deal with the situation, Kaoru suddenly charges in and they have an instant of romance between them. Back at home Aoshi frets how it' started to rain, while Tina and Kaoru wait outside the gates. They're another brief moment of romantic tension between the two when Tina tends to a scratch on Kaoru's hand. Continuing where the last chapter left off, Tina and Kaoru find out that the trains aren't running, so they decide to "kill time" at a Karaoke place. They have fun at the Karaoke, Tina incredibly pleased that they have so much time to spend together. In an attempt to reveal her feelings for Kaoru secretly, she sings "Fly Me to the Moon", a gentle love song directed at Kaoru. Aoshi calls Tina up on her cell-phone, worried, but Tina explains the situation, and Kaoru and Tina leave the Karaoke place, headed for the train station. On the way, they swap thanks for such a fun day. When they arrive, however, they find that the train just left again! Doh! Lucks evades the two again, when a Love Hotel winds up being the only place they can stay for the night! The air is full of tension as the two try to make light of the situation and try to ignore the scandalous-ness of their situation! There are some funny moments when they try relaxing with some television, but there's only porn being shown. They fill up the hours playing video games and Tina takes a shower, where she contemplates her actions. Likewise, Kaoru starts to think of Tina in a new light, and the night ends with Tina collapsing on the bed and sleeping innocently. The next morning, the pair is still jittery about the previous night, and Tina asks if she can hold Kaoru's hand to the station. A happy upbeat ending!...

The dream turns into a nightmare as Kaoru chases the fading form of Aoi, crying for her to stop, and he thinks of how this scene is just the same as when his mother left him. Kaoru wakes up from the nightmare, and decides to go and see Aoi in the middle of the night. Just as he leaves, he runs into Miyaba who asks her to drive with her. During the drive, Miyaba won't answer Kaoru's questions, but suddenly brings up the memory of their first meeting. She reveals that she hated him in the beginning, but because Aoi adored him so much she couldn't help but tolerate him too. It is then followed by a series of flashbacks of how Aoi vowed to marry Kaoru when she was still a child, and how disappointed Miyaba was when she first found him. No matter how much she tried to sway Aoi away from Kaoru, however, Aoi was determined to see it through to the end, and because of her passion, Miyaba reveals that she feels she understands him a little better. The chapter closes with Miyaba promising to protect Kaoru. Miyaba and Kaoru finally to where Aoi is, but it's not her parents' home. In the following chapter, Aoi and Kaoru spend the rest of the day at the temple/inn, but return home to find that Miyaba has left on "urgent business". Though worried, they're even more worried about the fact that they'll be spending the night alone! Now in the bath, the two are horribly awkward, but eventually break the ice enough to talk heart-to-heart. Aoi reveals that living as Kaoru's wife is her one and only dream for her future. She breaks down in tears, however, afraid that she's only causing Kaoru grief. Kaoru comforts her and they share a sweet embrace. Next, now that Aoi has calmed down, Kaoru finally asks what the business at home was about. Sadly, Aoi tells him that her father is serious about having her see others in preparation for marriage, but Aoi is far too in love with Kaoru to waste her time with it. During her passionate explanation, she faints from the heat and wakes up to Kaoru tending her in bed. The next morning, they are ready to go. After delving into Miyaba's concern over the situation, Kaoru and Aoi show up to say that they're going back to the Sakuraba household, because Aoi knows that her true family is among her friends (Tina, Taeko, etc). Though her father is obviously upset with her, Aoi is determined to stay with her love, and Kaoru talks about how this is the first time he's felt like he has a family.
