My name is Ruchama Tortosa and I was born in Latvia in 1970. I came to Israel in 1971. Even though I was born with impaired vision (I'm considered legally blind), I majored in art in high school, and also took drawing classes for 5 years with Shoshana Batelhaym. I have participated in several art exhibitions. My profession is in alternative medicine. (Reflexology, medicinal herbs, and nutrition.). I’ve studied music with a few teachers and I play the keyboard. Now I am studying theater and music in the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. The lyrics I wrote myself. Most of the music I composed together with Israel (Serge) Tortosa, my ex-husband, but there are a few songs that he composed by himself, and others that I composed by myself. Together with the drummer, Dudu Hamenahem, the three of us performed as the “Telescope Band”. After the divorce from my husband, I started to work on the disc “Bezavit Acheret” (From a different angle). The musical arrangements were done by Sasha Raskin, Daniel Thein, and Sergei Lazarev. Here in the site there will be photographs from my drawing exhibitions, drawings that I have done and photographs from our performance in the Hebrew University.
