Examines concepts of the Jews as "others" in modern Arabic novels, stories, plays, and poetry. Notes that, until the establishment of Israel, Jews were portrayed with either negative or positive traits. The negative traits (e.g. treacherousness and greed) derived from the Islamic period, while the positive traits (e.g. loyalty and kindness) derived from earlier periods.
