Richard and Famous is a snap shot of 20 years of the world of celebrity as seen through the eyes and camera of Richard Simpkin. Over 200 identities from the realms of royalty, sport, movies, television are featured along with Richard’s stories of when, where and how the encounters took place. Richard’s obsession with celebrity, and wanting to meet and photograph them, started at the age of 15 and continues to the present. The journey has seen him meet the who’s who of fame from George Harrison and Paul McCartney to Bono and The Edge and from Audrey Hepburn to Anna Nicole Smith. A special feature of the book is a collection of photos of the late INXS lead singer, Michael Hutchence, whom Richard considered a friend.
