Dr. Schellenberg introduces Standards Blending, a systems-focused, integrated, and student-centered approach that directly and overtly aligns school counseling programs with academic achievement missions. Standards Blending is a crosswalking approach that has been found to be an effective and culturally sensitive strategy for closing the achievement gap and for increasing achievement in mathematics and language arts as well as total student development meeting the recommendations of ASCA (RAMP), CACREP, NCLB, and school administrators. Research in support of Standards Blending can be viewed in the Virginia Counselors Journal and in ASCA's Professional School Counseling journal.
SCOPE and SCORE, Microsoft Office applications, systematically walk users through accountable programming from conception to evaluation using check boxes, text boxes, and drop down menus. Embedded links allow users access to data sources, core academic standards, and ASCA Standards without leaving the system. Pre-formulated worksheets are embedded to provide instant pre-post program data analysis. Reporting features and options are remarkable. The SCOPE and SCORE include essential data reporting components recommended by the ASCA, CACREP, and school accountability initiatives.
