Robert Sochia, a young man just acquitted of murder returns to his hometown not far from the Canadian border. Julia, a recently arrived music student, full of new ideas of love and sexual freedom, befriends him and helps him start a new life. When the couple abruptly leave town, several townspeople believe Robert has kidnapped Julia. This small, provincial community gathers a search party to rescue Julia.
