The Youngest Patriot is the story, the first of a trilogy, of the coming of age of a young boy set against the turmoil of the American Revolution during the British occupation. Elijah Churchill defies his father and joins the Continental Army at age thirteen. The story culminates with Elijah as recipient of the first Purple Heart.
