Dictionary of American Regional English is a corker (thing of remarkable quality or strength). There's nothing cheesy (low-grade, cheap) or cold potato (dull, boring, or worthless) about it. It's such couthy (amiable) reading that it's hard to raise your conkhouse (lift your head) and agress (move forward and make progress).
