There he first heard of Opar, the city of gold, left over from the fabled Atlantis. It was a city with stories of hideous men and of savage but beautiful women. The ruler was La the high priestess of the Flaming God. It had altars stained with the blood of many sacrifices. Not heeding any of the dangers, Tarzan led a band of fierce warriors toward the ancient crypts and the more ancient evil of Opar.
