We return to the continued weird storyline of our heroes in rubber suits fighting strange aliens. In this episode - odd, birdlike creatures in robot bodies of a popular past pop singer. In Volume 6 of the popular, ultraviolent, and sexy manga Gantz, Kei Kurono is caught with his pants down. Twice. And the first time he's got to fight the good fight with only one delayed-explosion gun. Has the confidence derived from wearing the fighting suit in the past volumes rubbed off on Kurono enough to help him through this difficult and confusing battle? All we can do is hope. I mean, the kid hasn't even lost his virginity yet....

Without giving anything away, suffice it to say that this might be the watershed volume of Gantz. It's the end of the great Buddha battle, and it doesn't seem to be going well. In fact, it would be amazing if anyone returned to the locked apartment overlooking Tokyo tower. It's really been the worst fight yet. But there's got to be a gleam of hope somewhere. Also in this story, we meet a few more interesting characters outside of Gantz's hunting party, and it only adds more mystery to the mix....

"Your lives are over. What you do with your new lives is up to me!" This was the warning given to a diverse group of citizens who were teleported to an inescapable condo by an ominous black orb calling itself Gantz. Join best friends Kei and Masaru, the sultry Kishimoto, a stray dog, and the rest of the group as they are unleashed on the streets of Tokyo to face a terrifying onion alien! Will the weapons and strange suits given to them by Gantz prove to be a lifesaver or a death sentence? Now the group has to fight for their lives, even though they are all already dead!...

How long will you stay in the game? The last thing Kei and Masaru remember was being struck dead by a subway train while saving the life of a drunken bum. What a waste! And yet somehow they're still...alive? Or semi-alive? Maybe it's reanimated... by some kind of alien orb with a nasty message... "Your lives are over. What you do with your new lives is up to me!" And what this orb called 'Gantz' intends to do with their lives is make them play games of death, hunting all kinds of odd aliens, along with a bunch of other ordinary citizens who've recently met a tragic semi-end. The missions they embark upon are often dangerous. Many die - and die again! This dark and action-packed manga deals with the moral conflicts of violence, coupled with teenage sexual confusion and angst, and with our fascination with death. Hang onto your gear and keep playing the game, whatever you do; Gantz is unrelenting!...

Life is complicated for Kei Kurono, possibly the horniest teen in Tokyo. So far he's had to deal with sleeping next to a sad but excessively cute and endowed girl who asked to be his "pet"; the fact that he's apparently really a fax copy of himself - the real version having died in the first volume; and falling out of the sky after being dropped by some sort of alien eagle. Hiroya Oku's Gantz takes sci-fi and manga to a whole new level. Chock full of action and awkward sexiness, Gantz is not to be missed!...

One might be led to believe that Buddha is a pretty nice god. He sits there with a complacent half-grin offering peace to the world, right? Well, not today, and not in the world of Gantz. Or maybe it's just that the statues at one of Tokyo's oldest temples just happen to be inhabited by yet another species of alien being hunted by the humanoid-powered orb known as Gantz. In Volume 6, readers got to see just how ferocious alien Buddha statues can be, and the battle continues in Volume 7. And when we say vicious, we mean all kinds of body parts and blood flying in every direction. It doesn't look like any of Gantz's draftees will make it out of this battle alive!...
